Most of us take for granted the water which flows freely from our taps. But for many villages in South Asia, this basic life necessity is often in short supply. Thanks to the support of many, Jesus Wells are giving people in Asia clean water and rescuing people from disease, poverty and death. Not only that, but people who are typically overlooked by society are discovering the love of Christ, and new fellowships are being started.

This child is enjoying a refreshing splash of the Living Water provided through a Jesus Well. Before this well was built, women and children from this village walked miles back and forth to bring home dirty water. Now the whole village enjoys the relief and love that this Jesus Well brings.The fresh, clean water is available to the villagers year-round, right on the roadside in the middle of town.

This farmer makes a living by selling the produce from his field. Here you can see him using a Jesus Well's clean water to rinse off the produce before taking it to the market.

The children of this village are excited to use their new Jesus Well. Now they don’t have to walk several times a day carrying heavy water pots.

Crowded with women cleaning dishes and fetching water for their homes, this Jesus Well is put to use day and night.

These children stopped at a Jesus Well for a refreshing sip and some splashes to cool down on their way home from school.

Pure, refreshing water from a Jesus Well in their village saves families from walking hours a day to collect water. The clean water also keeps children from getting deathly sick from drinking polluted water from stagnant ponds or old, rusty wells.

Jesus Wells are open to everyone in need of clean water. Sometimes, Christians are banned from collecting water from their village wells because of their faith. But when a Jesus Well is drilled, the whole community is benefited, because anyone, including Christians, can come draw as much water as they need.

Happy World Water Day! Today around the globe, ministries and non-profits are hard at work providing clean water for those in need. Water from the Jesus Well is so pure and tasty, this girl's family and other families don't need to filter or boil their water. Many people in this village use this water for drinking, cooking, bathing, washing utensils, doing laundry—the list goes on.

This is a machine that is used to drill Jesus Wells! Sometimes teams like this will drill more than 600 feet deep, allowing families to draw good, clean water even in the driest seasons.

We praise God for families who now have clean drinking water to use because of Jesus Wells like this one. Let's pray for people in Asia to have access to pure water close to their homes, and pray God will encourage people in His love.

Believers in Christ, people from low castes and many other disadvantaged groups are sometimes refused access to the local wells, which forces them to use and drink whatever water they find, even if it's not clean.

Before a Jesus Well was drilled, an old, dirty well was the only source of water in one village in South Asia. Now, the entire community can learn about and drink their fill of the pure Living Water that will never run dry or become dirty.

Pastor Nandin cared deeply about the people he ministered to, and he saw that clean water was a great need in this village. Even though the villagers direly needed this gift—something necessary to their health and wellbeing—they rejected his attempt to help give them clean water.

The Lord has used Jesus Wells profoundly. The water is freely offered to all, regardless of their religious background. But His love, demonstrated so clearly through the Jesus Well, makes such an impression on the people's hearts that many choose to follow Him.

3.4 million people die each year from water-related diseases. That’s almost the entire city of Los Angeles, CA. We want to change that. We are believing the Lord for the resources for 5,000 Jesus Wells in 2014.

This year, in honor of World Water Day, Gospel for Asia is trying to raise enough funds to drill 5,000 Jesus Wells throughout South Asia.

This Jesus Well provides water for an entire village and serves as an open door to share about Jesus, the source of living water!

A Jesus well freely offers clean water to drink, and an open door to share about the love of Christ!

Especially in dry climates where good water is scarce, water provided by a Jesus Well is a great blessing to an entire village.

Located near a church building, this Jesus Well provides many opportunities for missionaries and pastors to share the Gospel with those visiting the well.

Before a Jesus Well was drilled in their village, these people had to use a well that was not reliable; the new well provides a steady stream of clean water!

Many villages bar those who are of low caste or with leprosy from using their wells, but Jesus Wells are open to everyone!

In villages where the low caste people are not allowed to use the community well, a Jesus Well makes such a difference!

Waterborne diseases often run rampant in South Asia, but not when there are Jesus Wells around!

Waterborne illnesses cause 3.4 million deaths each year.

Gospel for Asia digs Jesus Wells in areas that are desperately thirsty – mouths thirsty for clean water and hearts thirsty for God's love.

The clean water that flows from Jesus Wells create opportunities for missionaries to share the message of God's love... and the result? Lives impacted physically and spiritually.
