Pure drinking water is a precious commodity in India and many are forced to drink poor quality, salty water.
When Pastor Vompu decided to build a church, the nearest well was located miles away. Fortunately, a "Jesus Well" was dug close by so the church building was completed on schedule.
Amazing things began to happen when the well was dug: attitudes toward the pastor and his congregation improved.
Pastor Vompu's well was the only source for miles with "sweet water"-water that doesn't taste salty or dirty.
They are given the Good News by Pastor Vompu. He tells them, "The Lord Jesus has given this water to us, so you need to believe in Him."
As men, women and children come from all over to receive this water, they also learn about the Jesus Who gives Living Water.
Each well is a tangible expression of Jesus' love.
While he pumps the water, the Gospel is preached. Many are now worshipping at his church because of hearing about Christ at the well.
