“The call of Christ for us is ‘as the Father hath sent me, so I send you. You are my hand, you are my leg, you are my eye, you are my ears, you are my tears – you are mine. Go into the world and touch the poor, the needy, the lepers, the dying, and the hurting, and the ones going to hell and grab them and rescue them.’ That is the call of Christ.”

—K.P. Yohannan, Christ’s Call: Follow in My Footsteps

For those of you who knew K.P. Yohannan (Metropolitan Yohan), you know that he lived every day with one consuming burden: the fact that millions were perishing without hearing the name of Jesus. This reality broke his heart, and he could not turn away from it. He believed that following the call of Christ meant more than just knowing Him—it meant laying down everything so that others could know Him, too.

K.P. Yohannan was more than just a man with a mission—he was a man consumed by the heart of God. He dreamed limitlessly because he knew that his God had no limits. He lived with reckless faith, believing that God would provide the entire way. And He did.

His passion was simple: how will the lost hear without someone telling them about Jesus? He knew that the most effective way to reach them was through national missionaries—men and women who sacrificially live and minister to those waiting for the Gospel. But this mission wasn’t just his; it was Christ’s, and it is still ours today.

The same passion and mission continues to fuel us here at GFA World. The need has not changed, the call is still loud, and the lost are still waiting. K.P. Yohannan’s heart burned for them—and now, it burns in us.

Metropolitan Yohan was known for his desperate passion to fulfill the Great Commission and his desire to see thousands of churches planted in Asia and Africa where 94% of the world's most unreached and unchurched people live - three billion souls! He believed and maintained that the book of Acts is our divine blueprint for fulfilling the Great Commission in our generation.
