GFA missionaries have dedicated their lives to sharing Christ’s love with others. They minister in a variety of places, living sacrificially and responding compassionately to the needs around them. As members of their communities, these men and women have unique insight into the needs and challenges within the community.
These courageous labourers serve on the front lines, often where no one else is serving, and share Christ with people who have not before heard His name. God is using them mightily to transform entire communities, but the work is far from finished. Billions of people still have never encountered Christ’s love. These missionaries face many challenges, and they can only continue this work as God enables them and ministry partners come alongside them.
Please join us in praying this month for GFA’s national missionaries.
GFA missionaries often minister in multiple villages, sometimes traveling for hours by foot every week. These committed servants of God put in long hours investing in lives and communities, often ministering in areas where people haven’t even heard Christ’s name. They frequently face opposition and other hardship. This can be exhausting, both physically and spiritually, and they are subject to the same diseases other community members fall prey to. They need health and strength for the Lord’s work.
Please pray GFA missionaries will be healthy, both physically and spiritually, to carry out God’s call on their lives. Pray for endurance, that they will not grow weary in doing good (see 2 Thessalonians 3:13). Pray for spiritual renewal and growth.
While national missionaries live simply and humbly among the people they serve, they still need resources for their daily lives and ministry. They need to feed their families, travel to neighboring communities and obtain ministry tools. They need resources to feed the hungry, offer clean water to the thirsty, provide income-generating gifts to the impoverished and intervene in times of crisis.
Please ask God to equip missionaries with the resources necessary to serve the people around them. Pray He will raise up ministry partners to provide for missionaries’ needs.
GFA missionaries often serve in impoverished communities where needs are many and resources are few. There are various ways GFA workers can help individuals, families and communities, but they need wisdom to best prioritize needs and discern how to most effectively express the love of Christ in specific situations.
Please pray for GFA missionaries to have supernatural insight and wisdom regarding the needs within their communities. Ask God to direct them as they go about their work and interact with others.
GFA missionaries are acutely aware that apart from Him, they can do nothing (see John 15:5). As they labour each day, these servants of God need the power of the Holy Spirit. GFA missionaries often minister to people struggling with addiction or illness and need the Holy Spirit to bring freedom and healing. As in the book of Acts, these signs and wonders not only improve a person’s life but also display God’s power in a way that transforms hearts. These things are accomplished “‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6).
Please ask the Holy Spirit to fill GFA missionaries with His power and work mightily through them. Pray God moves supernaturally among His people, especially GFA missionaries.
There is much work to be done and many needs to be met, but the labourers are few. More missionaries are needed in Africa and in Asia as GFA World expands ministry efforts. Though national missionaries have made a great impact over the years, many more people still need to learn of Christ’s love. A new generation of missionaries needs to be called and equipped to dedicate their lives to sharing the Good News with people in need.
Please pray God will call many men and women into full-time service and they will heed His call. Ask the Lord to anoint and equip them for His work.
GFA missionaries encounter people from various walks of life and in various circumstances who may not be immediately interested in hearing about God’s love. These individuals may be wayward youth, marginalized widows, alcoholic fathers, college students or community leaders. The need for Christ’s love is universal, but it can be a process for hearts to recognize that need and God’s love being extended to them.
Please pray God’s love will reach open hearts. Pray that as missionaries share this love in word and in deed, God will transform people’s lives.
