GFA World’s School of Discipleship is a one-year program for young people who want to experience genuine life for Christ.
We believe the Lord desires to raise up young people in this generation who are godly, who are actively engaged in reaching their generation for Christ, who fulfill their God-given purpose, who will stand firm in a culture drifting away from God, and who desire to live a life of worship.
School of Discipleship is designed to help young people experience this life of God worked out through prayer, worship, service, and community. You will have opportunity to grow in grace and love, develop a deep and humble walk with the living God, and experience lasting life-change.
A key aspect of the program is travelling to communities around the world where GFA World is serving.
Young men and women who join our community will set apart their year from the busyness of our culture and become dedicated to intentional prayer, worship, and sacrificial service unto the Lord, along with GFA World staff and families.
You will learn from the practical, real-life examples of GFA World staff and their families—many of whom have walked with Christ for decades—who are dedicated to fulfilling the Great Commission in the ways God has enabled and empowered them to do.
When you take part in GFA World’s Discipleship program, you will also serve in the GFA World headquarters office on behalf of those who have yet to hear the name of Jesus. Sacrifice and invest in something bigger than yourself that will impact the eternity of literally hundreds of thousands of people.
Over 200 young people have gone through GFA World’s Discipleship program since its beginning. After spending a whole year growing closer to the Lord in tangible ways, growing in their passion for the world, and gaining practical experience in ministry, many of them have gone on from the Discipleship Program to serve the Lord and share His love in various ways, both in their own communities and in several nations around the world.
Worship does not start and end on Sunday morning. There is no beginning nor end to it. We join with the angels and saints in heaven who are continuously worshipping around the throne. Our liturgical form of worship provides a God-centered worship experience that engages our bodies, minds, hearts, wills and spirits. Each part of the liturgy is meant to draw worshipers into God's redemptive narrative and into deeper fellowship with the Lord.
Through Ministry Placement Assignments (MPAs), students train and serve alongside GFA World behind-the-scenes missionaries in assigned departments. Depending on a student’s experience, giftings, and the need of GFA World, students could be assigned to any number of departments. In past classes, students have served in departments such as Donor Services, Information Technology, Print-room, Facilities, Web, Writers, and other departments.
The decisions you make now will set the path to making a significant impact. You have part to play in shaping the future for generations. Will you do it?
