GFA–supported missionary Kapil is seeing lives changed as he faithfully labors to reach people in South Asia who are very staunch in their traditional beliefs.
“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” –Romans 5:5, NKJV
Gospel for Asia–supported missionary Kapil Gavde didn’t give up hope, even when the people rejected his message of God’s love. Even after hearing about Christ repeatedly and receiving Gospel tracts, the people he was reaching out to remained staunch in their traditional religious beliefs. But Kapil longed to get through to them, and he continued sharing—and praying.
Kapil is blessed to lead a church fellowship whose members actively help out in his ministry. They joined in his burden to reach these villagers and prayed with him for an opportunity to have a special program that would minister to them. The Lord answered and provided a way for them to organize a day-long Gospel meeting. They invited about 80 people to come and hear from God’s Word.
“By the grace of God, the program went very well,” our GFA correspondent shared. “There was no one who tried to create problems. Everyone listened to the Word of God very attentively and with great interest.”
Two special speakers—a district pastor and a national missionary—were invited to come and share at the event. The Lord filled the two men with wisdom and enabled them to effectively address the doubts and questions that the villagers had. The crowd also enjoyed the soothing voice of a gifted young Bible college student who sang for them.“By the grace of God, the program went very well.”
At the end of the program, people were given the opportunity to respond to what they had heard that day. Twenty of them raised their hands to show that they were making a decision to trust in and follow Christ!
“It was wonderful to see that the Lord indeed answered the prayers of His children when they earnestly sought His blessings to win the lost souls in the village,” our correspondent shared. “The people who have committed their lives to the Lord have started taking an active role in the fellowship services and testify of their faith boldly to the people of other faiths. Praise God!”
Kapil requests prayer for his ministry to grow and for spiritual nourishment for the believers in his fellowship as they live out their faith amidst opposition.
