“I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am alive because of your prayers.” –GFA Pastor Tulsiram
Many of you remember the report of Pastor Tulsiram, who, along with his coworker, was beaten and kidnapped last week. Though Pastor Vijay escaped, Pastor Tulsiram was kept overnight and suffered repeated beatings. By God’s provision, he was released the next day. Read, in his words, his account of the experience below.
How many men attacked you?
About five or six men attacked me.
Where on your body did they beat you?
They beat me on the face, stomach and back.
What did they use to beat you?
They were kicking me and beating me with their hands and a rubber belt. They tied my hands with rope.
Did you think you were going to die?
http://www.gfamedia.org/images/olderstories/np_tulsi_update2.jpg I thought, I hope God will save me from this critical situation, because I had gone through other times in the past where God had saved my life.
Do you feel that your faith is stronger than before?
Since my release from captivity by the village council, I have believed my Jesus will save me from any circumstances.
How do you feel toward those who beat you?
First of all I got angry, but again I remembered the situation of Christ where He was beaten by the people, but did not open His mouth. I compared my situation with Jesus and forgave them.
Are you planning to go back to the same place sometime?
Yes, because the new believers are there without a leader, like sheep without a shepherd.
What would you like to say to those people who were praying for you?
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your valuable prayer. I am alive because of your prayers.
Do you feel persecution will decrease or increase in the next years?
It will increase, but again I believe that as persecutions will increase, then more and more people will come to Christ.
Do you think persecution is good or bad for the ministry?
It is good, because that helps me to believe more in Christ and trust Him more than any person.
What has the Lord taught you through all these events?
I am not alone; my Jesus is always with me to hold my hand and lead me out of any dangerous situation.
What helped you to stand strong during this persecution?
Thinking of the reward in heaven. The Lord was helping me to bear the pain.
Were you thinking of any Bible verses?
“ ‘Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ ” (NKJV)
“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.”(NKJV)
What did you pray during this time?
Lord, my life is in Your hands. I don’t know whether I will live or die, but I want to win this village in Your name at any cost. If I die, who will win this village? So make a way so that I can do something for this village.
Pastor Tulsiram gave several prayer requests we can intercede for:
*Pray for my complete recovery.
*Pray for my spiritual growth and that I will keep trusting God.
*Pray for the believers that are still in that village, that they may remain strong in the faith.
*Pray that the whole village may come to know Christ in the days to come.
*Pray for the Lord to provide a church building in that village.
