Christmas Celebrations in South Asia

first published: Dec. 1, 2011 – Gospel for Asia

Every year, Gospel for Asia-supported churches across South Asia celebrate Christmas by inviting their communities to festivities that glorify the Lord and His birth.

Thousands of people come to hear the Christmas story—some for the first time.

For these celebrations, children from GFA Bridge of Hope centers typically present a song and dance about Jesus and share the love of Christ, which they now store in their hearts.

They also perform skits portraying the birth of Christ, giving the audience a greater awareness of the importance of Jesus' life.

Last year, inmates at one prison celebrated Christmas alongside believers. The GFA-supported staff proclaimed the Good News and even performed some cultural dances for the inmates.

The most important part of each Christmas program is always Jesus and sharing His Word, which brings new life!

Pray these events will bring people closer to the saving knowledge of Christ.
