Pastor Prisan Pinak dedicated the first church planted by a GFA missionary, on Saturday, January 6. The church building was the first in the entire district of Pune, Maharashtra.
About 350 people, including GFA missionaries and pastors, attended the worship service and dedication. GFA Regional Leader M.A. Lalachan shared a message from the Bible, and as a result many at the service received Christ into their lives that day.
A local political leader who had initially opposed the building also attended. Originally, this official was angry about the prospect of a church in the area, and brought a group of people from his party to try to stop the construction. However, Pastor Prisan prayed and fasted for a change in the politician’s heart, and the building was completed.
When they finished the building, Pastor Prisan sent a dedication invitation to the politician. God had touched the man’s heart, and he gladly attended the ceremony.
Pastor Prisan started ministering in the Pune district only three years ago. He shared the Gospel with everyone he met, distributing tracts, New Testaments and Bibles along the way.
Slowly people began coming to Christ, and Prisan met with them in his rented house for prayer and Bible study. It was not long until the group completely filled the small home, and the believers began praying for a building of their own.
As a result of their earnest prayers, a church building now provides a place for local Christians to worship. Pray for more people to come to know the Lord through the ministry of this new church.
